About Us

Hello there.

I am a millennial husband and father of three sons managing a third shift team for the largest retailer in the world, and trying to navigate raising a family in the modern world of constant distraction and disconnection. This year has been a year of great reflection and reconnecting with my family, and has become the greatest year of fishing I have ever had. Writing has always been of great interest of me, and this blog is my attempt to finally make a priority to move the words out of my head, and into reality.

In the past two years I have picked up fly fishing specifically, and am obsessed with all parts of it. Just this year I began tying my own patterns, to great success, which has just made me all the more hungry to go fishing. Getting my wife and sons involved has been amazing, and they all are working on their fly fishing skills!

I am very conservation minded, heavily influenced by my youth growing up near Aldo Leopold’s shack in Wisconsin. The words of Aldo, Sigurd Olson, John Graves, and Fran Hammerstrom have been my primer and northern light of developing my own personal conservation ethos. As a child of the 90’s who grew up watching and listening to Steve Erwin, I am compelled to pass on these ideologies and lessons to my family.

I like to not over-complicate the fly fishing, sticking to simple patterns and methods. My arm is an ever growing collection of traditional/japenese influenced fish tattoo’s, and I enjoy the heck out of music and playing the guitar. I hope you find something you might enjoy in these pages!

Enjoy Life,
